Bature: “If Elections Were Held Today…NDC Will Lose”

Managing Editor of the Al Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu, has categorically stated that the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] will be kicked out from government by electorates if elections were to be conducted today.

According to him, despite efforts by the NDC Mahama-led administration to curtail the hardship being experienced by Ghanaians, the citizenry still feels disenchanted.

He further noted that, some members within the ‘umbrella’ party have also expressed anger as well as feelings of despondency against the government.

Quite recently, some executives of the ruling party drawn from the Greater Accra Region accused government of neglecting the rank and file of the party.

They further claimed government officials have sidelined members of the ruling party in the activities of government, leading to a gradual apathy amongst the supporters of the NDC.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Alhaji Bature, also a well-known sympathizer of the incumbent government believes if measures are not taken to solve the country’s ailing economy now, the party [NDC] is likely to lose the presidential polls come 2016.

“If elections were held today, NDC will lose,” he strongly asserted and further added that this is “largely due to growing despondency, apathy and anger amongst members”.
