Phobia pleads: Kotoko should not mar game – Hearts PCF

The Phobian Campus Forum has released a press statement pleading with fans of rival club Kotoko not to mar tomorrow’s big clash.

The two giants of Ghana football come face-to-face tomorrow, with the Porcupine Warriors having already secured the league title.

The Phobians still have it all to play for, as they continue their quest to qualify for the CAF Champions League as well as salvage some bragging rights.

A statement released by the requested measures to be put in place to ensure that Kotoko don’t mar the game, after reports of schemes orchestrated by the camp of Kotoko to ensure that they deliver their 5-0 promise.

The statement in full can be found below:
The Phobia Campus Forum (PCF) have been reliably informed of the plans and schemes orchestrated by some fans and management of the newly crowned league champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko come Sunday. As a youth wing of the club that is designed to mobilize fans across the various tertiary campuses and also serve as a intellectual branch of the oak tree to brainstorm and generate ideas to the development of our dear club, we feel such development and information we have is disheartening and a cause to worry about. First of all, we are aware of the intimidation plot against the referee by some sections of the kotoko fans and management. Despite the fact that both teams are playing for the bragging rights, to we as Phobians we will continue to be guided by the winning mentality and our Never Say Die spirit that has worked for club over the years. These three points are much valuable to us in the sense that, it will help in our quest to place 2nd and subsequently qualify us to play in the Caf Champions League next year. We are hereby calling on the Ghana Football Association(GFA) and Referees’ Appointment Committee to be aware of this development and put in measures to restrain such situation. Moreover, In a bid to secure their laughable 5-0 promised by acting Kotoko General Manager, Opoku Nti to their fans, we have been informed from a grapevine source what they did formerly to prevent technical members like Jacob Nettey From joining our technical men is a similar approach they will try to implement this time around again. Also, what we seek from National Sports Authority is to tighten security at all access route to the stadium until the match day to prevent any fictitious behaviour which is usual of them. It is our firm belief that these diabolic tactics from our opponents is to prevent humiliation and also to try and equal or better the 4-0 loss suffered in our hands on the 15th of March 2000. It is a public knowledge that Kotoko players get tired after 70minutes and management of the club are doing everything possible to make the Opoku Nti 5-0 declaration come to pass. This development has given us some suspicion. As a matter of urgency we call on the GFA to instruct its department responsible for such cases to conduct an anti-doping test on both teams. We finally entreat all Phobians in all the campuses in Ghana to support the team at the stadium or in prayers. We are never perturbed by these developments but we are bringing out these issues for people to see why an acting General Manager will be over ambitious to affirm such an astronomical scoreline in an epic encounter, because it is said, “when a blind man says he will hit you with a stone, he is fully aware of the source he will find one”. We want to also assure the Hearts of 0ak team that we are solidly behind them and we know that come Sunday, we are leaving Baba Yara Stadium with all the three points. Phobiaaaaa…Never Say Die

Signed.
