Kotoko defender Kwabena Adusei rubbishes deal with South African side Black Aces

Ghananian defender Kwabena Adusei has rubbished claims by South African side Mpumalanga Black Aces he has signed for the PSL side ahead of next season.

The South African top-flight side stated on their official website on Friday that the Ghana defender, who is the on the Black Stars World Cup stand-by list, has signed for them.

Adusei, who plays for giants Asante Kotoko impressed at the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa, scoring two goals as the Black Stars finished as runners-up to Libya.

But the 26-year-old, who excelled in the tournament in South Africa in January and attracted several interest says he is unaware of any deal with the Black Aces.

‘I have signed for which club? Black Aces? Mpumalanga? When was that? Call and ask them when they met me and signed me on. Maybe they are intending to, but you call and ask them where they saw me,’ Adusei told Footy Ghana.

‘One of my friends initially called my notice to such a rumour, but I initially brushed it aside. I’m reacting to you this way because I’m taken aback by the club’s claim.

‘I have not signed any contract with any other club, because I’m still under one with Kotoko and I can’t go against my contract with them. Where did that happen?’

Adusei, who has one year remaining in his contract with Kotoko had previously been linked with a move to DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.

There are also claims that some French and Belgian clubs are interested in signing the centre-back from the Porcupine Warriors at the end of the season.
