Ghana’s U13 side silenced Kenya by hammering the East African side 5-0 at the 2014 African Milo Championship in Victoria Island in Lagos on Friday to set up a final date with cross-border rivals Nigeria.

Abdul Rashid Rahman’s Tamale Zogbeli Block A gifted youngsters ensure the opposite manager Abinda Ben was shunted and shuttered even before the end of the opening 45 minutes by trouncing his side 3-0 with brilliant finishes from Abubakar Rauf and Haruna Abdulai .

Abinda Ben who had started the trade of words in the pre-match presser was forced to bring tactics to bare to justify his claims about Kenyan youth football development but his charges returned from recess to suffer more and more pain.

Ghana’s 10-year-old Nuhu Abdulai, the youngest player at this year’s finals stole the show with a stunning goal before Mohammed Rahman scored a belter from the center circle to nail the Haranbee Starlets.

While Ghana were seriously immersed in their surgical disintegration of Kenya, Nigeria were watching with flavoured interest as they had earlier survived an early scare from South Africa to win 4-1 in the opening game.

The two African giants will resume their rivalry during the weekend as the host – Nigeria, seek to annex Ghana – title-holders, with a host-and-win agenda.

Asempa FM’s Ghanaian journalist Kusi Mensah who watched the youngsters believes Ghana are likely to retain their title.

‘Very talented and disciplined side and with what we saw on Friday, they can go on and retain that crown,’ he told GHANAsoccernet.com
