Stanbic Bank launches MoneyWallet Multi-Currency Card


Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited has introduced another innovative product on the market helpful for travelers who want an alternative to carrying foreign notes.

The Stanbic MoneyWallet Multi-Currency Card, the first of its kind in Ghana, allows both customers and non-customers of the Bank to load and have access to up to four foreign currencies on a single card.

The card, a product of Stanbic Bank in collaboration with MasterCard also protects users against foreign exchange rate swings and attendant losses.

Speaking at the launch, Head, Personal and Business Banking Stanbic Bank Ghana, Nana Dwemoh Benneh said the introduction of MoneyWallet is one of the many interventions to continually advance the business of customers.

He noted that the global accessibility of the card ensures that our customers always have a convenient way of doing their financial transactions.

‘By using the Stanbic MoneyWallet, travelers can avoid forex and cross currency fluctuation costs and concerns especially when travelling and trading between the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and South Africa’ Nana Benneh added.

On his part, Head of Markets at Stanbic, Benjamin Mensah said the decision to roll out the MoneyWallet is as part of plans to encourage customers to swipe more than carry cash.

He indicated that, the card which has a life span of five years provides 24-hour customer service and support no matter which part of the world they may find themselves adding that in the event of a lost, damaged or stolen card, emergency cash can be sent to the cardholder.

More importantly, Ben Mensah stressed that cardholders can stick to their budget by only spending the amount loaded onto the card
