The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Care And Social Development, a Kuwaiti-based non-governmental organization (NGO), Sheik Mansoud, has thanked Muslim communities which benefited from the construction of mosques and boreholes in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

Sheik Mansoud was speaking to Muslims at Techiman after visiting certain mosques constructed by the NGO.  According to him, his group had so far constructed 10 modern mosques, about 60 boreholes and hand-dug wells in certain communities in the region alone.  He said apart from the Brong-Ahafo Region where the NGO is engaged in charitable works, almost all the regions in Ghana had benefited from the benevolence of the NGO.

He said beneficiary communities in the Brong-Ahafo Region in particular, had taken good care of the projects and appealed to other communities which had also benefited in a similar way to emulate the people of the region.

Touching on the financial sources of the NGO, Sheik Mansoud said most of the donors are widows in Kuwait who want to donate charitably to needy communities so that their departed spouses would receive the blessings of Allah.  Apart from the widows, Sheik Mansoud said there are also certain philanthropists who are willing to give their widow’s mite to charity.

He gave the assurance that other communities which had applied to the NGO to come to their aid would be catered for in due course.  According to the CEO, even though the boreholes and the hand-dug wells were situated in predominantly Moslem communities, any other person could benefit from the projects, irrespective of their religious leanings.

Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Abass, the Wangara chief of Techiman who spoke on behalf of the Muslims, also thanked Sheik Mansoud for all that the NGO had done for the beneficiary communities.  Alhaji Abass seized the opportunity to warn Muslims to be wary of Boko Haram and other Muslim fundamentalists who might stealthily get into their midst to preach hatred and Jihad.

He said Islam is a religion that preaches peace and as such, anyone who will come to preach hatred at the mosques should not be entertained.  According to him, what Boko Haram is doing in Nigeria has nothing to do with Islam and as such, no true Muslim will follow their teachings and brutal attacks on innocent people.
