Lions’ early roar: England hand Peru 3-0 defeat


England gave a bold intent in their preparation friendly for the FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil against Peru on Friday night.

Roy Hodgson and his men showed no pity at the Wembley Stadium by thrashing Peru to send their warning signs to the other 31 countries participating in the tournament next month.

Daneil Sturridge replicated his fine form for Liverpool for his national side, giving them a goal advantage in the 32 minute to send into the first half interval.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill doubled the lead for England 20 minutes into the second half before Phil Jagielka rounded off the goals for the Three Lions.

Prince William was present at the Wembley Stadium to see the impressive win from England.

The Three Lions will play Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy in Group D at the FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.
