Is Mahama-led NDC Gov’t Under A Spell? NPP MP Wonders

For months now, Ghanaians have been subjected to unplanned erratic power outages after energy providers in the country failed to supply electricity to communities.

Though the energy providers have indicated their readiness to end the incessant power cuts which have since become the bane of every Ghanaian, the nation is yet to heave any sigh of relief from the current energy challenges.

The Minister of Energy, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Buah is confident the country will generate enough power to ameliorate the current energy crisis.

According to him, companies like General Electric and Symbion Power among others will undertake projects that will augment the national grid by about 1450 megawatts. This is to improve the energy situation in Ghana.

He also assured Ghanaians they will get a reprieve from present power situation when gas from the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant starts flowing by the last quarter of this year.

Although, this sounds as good news to some Ghanaians, the Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hon. Titus Glover is unconvinced.

Speaking on Oman FM‘s National Agenda, Hon. Titus Glover sought to find out if President John Dramani Mahama is under a “curse”, a reason why his government has woefully failed the entire nation. According to him, any project the President undertakes has ended in futility.

Touching on the inadequacies of the Mahama administration, Hon. Titus Glover also expressed doubts about the Energy Ministry’s commitment to address the sector’s challenges.

“I don’t know what is wrong with the President. Because whatever he touches results in a fiasco. Is it a curse? They should stop talking and think big…I don’t know what is happening. I just don’t understand. And those in charge of the Energy Ministry; the Minister and his technical team, VRA, GRIDCO, ECG, they should tell us what’s happening…

“They’re not telling us the truth,” he blurted out.
