Delta Police Nab Prophetess For Sending Kidnap Threats To Rich Acquaintance

Kidnap activities are being practiced even by prophets in Delta State. The police unit in the capital of the state, Asaba, confirmed the arrest of a prophetess for forwarding text messages to a woman with demands to get a sum of N1.5m or risk being kidnapped.

The suspect, simply identified as Deborah, has sent the messages with threats to the victim, known as Caroline Nnakwe. However, Caroline was not intimidated, showed the messages to the police.

The officers in Asaba reacted immediately, which led to arrest of the prophetess, and the owner of the GSM line involved in sending the threat messages, Nkem Onyia.

The police command of the state refused to disclose any more details of the incident, stated that the matter was being investigated.

The public relations officer further briefed the journalist about another foiled case of abduction in the area.

A gang of three suspected kidnappers was neutralised on May 27, 2014, Tuesday. The hoodlums operated along Nnebisi Road in Asaba, made an attempt to abduct a person, identified as Idah Moses. The suspects used a Toyota Camry, plate number RSH 173 HY, for their operation.

Upon receiving the kidnap alert the operatives moved out and located the vehicles near one of the local offices of Zenith Bank, Asaba. The criminals tried to steal a vehicle parked within the bank premises. The operatives managed to seize all of them.

The trio of confessed kidnappers included Lucky Ochongor from Obiaruku, Frank Adigwe from Ibusa and Moses Eke from Kwale. 

The police promised to bring all of the arrested criminals to justice.
