Abokobi (G/A), May 29, GNA – Mr John Kwao Sackey, Ga East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has advised cadres to change their perception about District Chief Executives,   and rather be familiar with the governance structures of the Assemblies.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Abokobi, the MCE said by so doing the cadres would see the positions of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and the District Chief Executives,   and bear with them on their demands.

The MCE explained that when a leader is appointed,   he or she represents the interest of the whole nation,   and   that person’s policies and programme must reflect the interests of all the citizenry to ensure rapid development of such areas.

He said: ‘we have fundamental needs,   such as quality education and sanitation   that are facing communities,   and this is where we should be committed to,   by working,   instead of wearing political colours.’

Mr Sackey appealed to cadres and the entire National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the district not be deceived by the propaganda being peddled by people opposed to DCEs.

He asked them to remain calm,   and focus on things that would move the nation forward and enhance the economic activities of the people.

He commended three resident associations in the district for providing Police Posts at some vantage areas,   such as Haatso, Ashongman and Kwabenya, to ensure adequate security in the area.
