MTN FA Cup: Kotoko face Inter Allies test in final on June 8

Next week Sunday, June 8 has been confirmed as the date for the final of this season’s MTN FA Cup final set to feature Kumasi Asante Kotoko against Tema based Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium, The FA Cup Committee have announced.

League champions and also former winners of this competition but not in its current MTN sponsored format even though they’ve featured in two of the past three finals, Kotoko seek to seal their domestic dominance by competing the double against a sensational Inter Allies side who defeated the Kumasi club the last timed the two teams met at the same venue this season.

Inter Allies are just coming to the end of their debut season in the Ghanaian top flight and would seek to extend their incredible recovery in the league into the cup tournament where even making the final alone is history in itself.

Their inexperience at this level showed early in the 2013/14 Ghana season when they were the whipping boys in the first 10 games of the campaign but under the shrewd tutelage of experienced Herbert Addo, the Tema based side clawed their way back without anyone taking notice.

Talk of relegation was long forgotten as Inter Allies rose to as much as 6th spot at a stage. They are not completely off the hook yet with two games to go but will aim to prove they are here to stay with a battling performance against Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup final.

Meanwhile, the FA Cup Committee have released a comprehensive line-up of events including a pre-match press conference at the GFA Conference Room on June 5 and tickets price with MTN packages to boot:
