Kotoko defender Ainooson eyes double despite latest protest

Defender Abeiku Ainooson expects Kotoko to clinch the double despite the latest twist to their third successive Premier League title hold.

The Porcupine Warriors will have to wait a little longer to find out if they have been declared champions after Medeama filed a protest against Aduana Stars in a latest twist which could change the direction of the title.

‘That is our target this season, we have won the league and our aim is to win the FA Cup as well,’ he said

‘It is not going to be easy but I am sure with the form we have now we will be able to win the FA Cup as well.’

Medeama want nine points chunked off Aduana Stars’ points tally on the charge they failed to pay a fine in an earlier defeat in a disciplinary case within the stipulated 14-day period.

A club which fails to pay its fines within the stipulated period according to regulations governing the Premier League forfeits ensuing matches.

This means Aduana Stars’ wins against Berekum Chelsea, Heart of Lions and Medeama could be reversed in favour of their opponents.
