Work Commences On Routine Maintenance Of Trunk Roads In Ashanti Region

A Ghanaian Company based in Tamale Kenyite Wale Limited has began a maintenance work on the Mampong- Ejura Road.

The Ghana Highway Authority as part of government investment and commitment to road safety in the country signed a contract with the company on 11th April, 2014 to maintain, grade, reshape and spot improve the Ejura-Mampong road, Ejura-Anyinafo road and Ejura Township roads at the sum of Two hundred and Eighteen thousand, Nine hundred and Thirty-two Ghana cedis. (GH218, 932.00).

The project according to the ‘contract agreement letter’ is supposed to end by 31st December 2014.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Alhaji Muhammad Bawah Braimah, expressed delight and hoped that part of the project of removing ‘killer speed humps’ and replacing it with the authorized one will help prevent accidents.

According to him, much should be expected from the NDC administration even though he acknowledged the economy hiccup.

He added that plans are advanced to give the municipal capital a “face-lift”.

A police patrol team member who pleaded anonymity said the project is a relief as they would not have to ‘battle’ with communities for illegal speed bumps.
