Film shoot gone wrong: Draxler and Howedes involved in a car crash


Germany had two players from the provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament were involved in a car crash on Tuesday.

Julian Draxler and Benedikt Howedes were the players involved in the accident as they were passengers alongside racing driver Pascal Wehrlein and Formula1 driver Nico Rosberg.

Two people involved in the accident have been taken to the hospital with reports indicating one with serious injuries. None of the players or drivers were injured.

German football federation spokesman Jens Grittner explained:

‘A driving exercise of our partner Mercedes-Benz ended in a serious accident. To our great regret, two people were injured. They were treated immediately and brought to hospital.’

The players were shooting an advert for partners Mercedes-Benz set near the team’s hotel in South Tyrol in northern Italy.
