La Decima: Ancelotti revels in incredible achievement


Carlo Ancelotti watched on as his Real Madrid side beat Atletico Madrid by four goals to one in extra time, the last three goals of the game all coming in the period after regular time.

Sergio Ramos, the star of the semi-final against Bundesliga Champions Baryern Munich scored a crucial equalizer in the third minute of additional time after Diego Simeone’s side had taken the lead in the 36 minute.

Gareth Bale scored the all need goal to send Madrid, the Real one 2-1 up before Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo added.

Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti who won two UEFA Champions Leagues with former club AC Milan said of the much sought after 10 European Cup, La Decima:

‘We have thought about this night since the first game of the season and we finally achieved what we set out to do at the start of the campaign. We never lost the faith and we were stronger in extra time.

‘It’s incredible what we have achieved.’
The former Chelsea manager is now the second only manager to win three Eurpean Cups after Bob Paisley.
