Akwapim Rural Bank Increases Profit By 75% In 2013


Board chairman of Akwapim rural bank Mr. Edward Offei-Bekoe has commended management and staff of the bank for their hardwork and dedication over the years.

He said their commitment has indeed increase the bank’s profit by 75.1% last year.

Mr. Offei-Bekoe speaking at the bank’s 33rd annual general meeting at Akwapim-Mamfe stated that the bank increased profit from 1,136,295 Cedis in 2012 to 1,989,613 Cedis last year before tax which represents much improvement on the bank’s purse.

According to him, the bank’s total Assets has increased by 16.2% from 26,157,589 Cedis in 2012 to 30,383,770 Cedis last year.

Mr. Offei-Bekoe said the bank have installed CCTV cameras at all the branches to strengthen and provide adequate security to the bank and its customers.

He pledged the bank will continue to support the communities they operate as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Mr. Offei-Bekoe was worried that the bank slipped from its membership of the prestigious Ghana club 100 for the year 2013 but said efforts would be made to restore the banks’ membership.
