National Farewell: Black Stars lash Dream Team 6-1


The Black Stars of Ghana defeated a select team of local stars 6-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in a farewell match before they embark on their World Cup adventure.

A hat trick from Vitesse star Christian Atsu in the first half was bolstered by Albert Adomah,Jordan Ayew and a late free kick from Sulley Muntari.

The rresult though was not the purpose as almost 30,000 fans packed the national stadium to watch the team for the last time.

Present were a host of dignitaries headlined by the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur and former President Jerry John Rawlings.

The team leaves for Holland on Saturday, May 23 to prepare for a friendly game against Holland on May 31.
