Nestle Ghana Limited has opened its refurbished head office in Ghana to serve as the operational center in the country.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at Dzorwulo, Accra on Friday, Moataz Elhoul, Managing Director of Nestle Ghana, said the building was refurbished to improve the working environment and boost the morale of its staff.
According to him, the office would help promote communication and cooperation among Nestle’s employees.
Commenting on Nestle’s commitment towards the growth of Ghana’s economy, he said, ‘We would continue to offer our consumer nutrition, health and wellness everyday.’
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nii Lartey Vanderpuye commended management of Nestle Ghana for its continuous support for the development of the country.
‘We recognize the significant contributions of Nestle to the growth of the Ghanaian industry, first for providing employment to cover a thousand people across the length and breadth of the country through your operations, the Deputy Trade Minister said.
He stated that Nestle, apart from manufacturing quality food products for Ghanaians, was also helping to generate revenue for the State.
Reiterating government’s commitment to sustaining the manufacturing sub-sector of the economy, Mr. Vanderpuye said, ‘Manufacturing would continue to be the major focus of the Ministry and the coming years would see various initiatives ostensibly to stimulate further growth in the sector.
Nestle is a Swiss corporation headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland.
When Ghana gained independence in 1957, Nestle begun trading and distributing its products in the country under the name Nestle Products (GH).
The company was then incorporated in 1968 as Food Specialties.
Over the last 10 years, Nestle Ghana has been one of the fastest growing businesses in the country.
