Bank of America offers internship programme for Ghanaian students

Two students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have been selected to undergo internship training with the Bank of America for ten weeks.

This comes on the heel of a similar one last year which saw some students from the University of Ghana been attached to the bank.

The bank will this week hold series of programmes for students at KNUST, the University of Cape Coast, and the University of Ghana to prepare them for the global market and offer opportunity to eligible students to undergo the internship. They will undergo interviewing training, CV preparation and other important issues.

Managing Director of Global Head of Emerging Markets at the Bank of America, Bernard Mensah told Joy News, applicants must prove themselves capable of working permanently with the bank.

“Those students should be as bright and talented as some of the top students from elsewhere…When you come and intern with us, we see you at close hands so if you are good we are very keen to hire you rather than someone else,” Bernard Mensah said.

He said the bank is looking to recruit “the best and brightest students” in the various universities for this programme which will run for about five-to-ten years.

At the KNUST, Mr. Mensah is expected to speak on micro economics, the state of emerging market and  also answer questions from the students on global business.

The bank is also expected to call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who is also the Chancellor of the KNUST.
