Stanbic Bank Ghana launched three insurance products known as Stanbic Travel Insurance, Stanbic Home Owners Insurance and Stanbic Motor Insurance onto the Ghanaian market under its Bancassurance Unit.

They intend to bring an end to the hassle insurers go through in the course of their insurance transactions.

They are to be underwritten by Metropolitan Insurance Company Limited.

The Stanbic householder’s comprehensive insurance is an all-inclusive package covering both buildings and their content.

It provides compensation for losses arising from fire and burglary, as well as other natural disasters like earthquake and flooding.

On the other hand, the Stanbic Motor Comprehensive insurance is an extensive auto policy designed to protect customers in the event of damage to a vehicle belonging to another party, damage to property, or injury to a person.

The Travel Insurance is designed to cover medical and other expenses and losses that a customer may incur while traveling in the course of 92 days.

It covers emergency medical assistance, personal assistance and loss of identity cards and passports.

Nana Dwemoh Benneh, Head Personal and Business Banking of Stanbic Bank, in a speech at the launch of the products in Accra on Thursday, said ‘the collaboration with Metropolitan Insurance is to deliver service that is beneficial to the consumer in an industry that remains a critical sector for every economy.’

Stanbic Bancassurance, he said, would provide affordable cutting-edge solutions while ensuring that claims are dealt with promptly.

Mr. Benneh pointed out that customers were at liberty to pay premiums when they have the funds and transact business through an electronic mail or phone call.

Meanwhile, Linda Odro, Chief Operations Officer of Metropolitan Insurance Company, in a speech, said the products were specially designed to respond to the real needs of Stanbic clients.

‘These products have been developed after thorough customer needs analysis. Our research revealed that customers want to have simple  and affordable insurance products with hustle-free claims settlement, as well as a convenient mode of premium payment,’ she said.

She stated that the Stanbic Travel Insurance is an international travel insurance policy in collaboration with Metroplitan’s international partner Mapfre Asiscencia of Spain that provides for risks encountered during travel outside Ghana.
