The CID said Asiama Hanson popularly known as Bulldog, who is the manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, sent several “threatening messages” both verbal and text showing his intent to kill Fennec.
Fennec Okyere, who was the manager of the controversial musician, Kwaw Kese, was killed at his Manet Gardens residence on the Spintex Road, Accra on Thursday, March 13 by unknown assailants.
He died at age 31.
Bulldog, who is also the CEO of Bull Haus Entertainment, was picked up around 15:45 hours Thursday in Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra, as a prime suspect in the death of Fennec Okyere.
He passed the night at the CID Headquarters in Accra.
ASP Joseph Benefoh Darkwa, the Public Relations Officer of the Police CID, told Joy News the CID after “working tirelessly” to unravel the murder case, intelligence gathered suggested that Bulldog might have a hand in Fennec’s death.
“The intelligence is on the ground, the Homicide Unit is working and the information gathered pointed out that there was the need to arrest Bulldog for him to come and help us with investigations.”
He said Bulldog started issuing the “death threats” to Fennec after the two engaged in heated exchanges during a radio programme on Peace FM.
