South African side AmaZulu yet to hear from suspended midfielder Awal-Issah

AmaZulu have yet to hear from Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed-Awal Issah after the player went AWOL last year. Issah disappeared from Usuthu late last year despite still having two years to run on his contract and the PSL DC ordered the player to pay the club R1.7-million in damages within one month.

The ruling also stated that “should Issah fail to pay this amount within one month or should the amount remain unpaid, any club that he will join in future will be liable to pay this amount to the club”.

But a month later, Usuthu say they have not been contacted by the player.

“Nothing has happened since the verdict was issued last month,” AmaZulu official Philani Mabaso tells KickOff.com.

“We will have to inform Safa and in turn Safa will have to inform Fifa that the player has not yet paid the required amount and therefore cannot sign with any club, be it here or internationally.”
