Speaking at the exhibition, Mrs Amissah-Arthur advised the weavers to impart the knowledge and skills acquired in India to other women in the craft business as part of their contribution to empowering others in the business.

She also urged the women to take advantage of the training to enhance their basket weaving skills.

That, she said, would enable them to attract more profitable businesses on the global market to improve on their living standard.

Mr Kumar urged the beneficiaries to establish a co-operative body to train other basket weavers in the country.
