Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila will explode at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals if he makes Kwesi Appiah’s 23-man squad.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful season in his first year with Sundowns helping them to their first ever PSL trophy in eight years.
Sumaila played in 22 out of 29 games for the Brazilians on their way to lifting the trophy earning him a place in the provisional 26-man squad.
Mosimane believes the former Asante Kotoko player fits the bill to play at the tournament in Brazil.
“We knew his quality and decided he was the kind of player that will fit into our style of play,” Mosimane told GHANAsoccernet.com
“I was not surprised he made the team and if he gets to play in a couple of games, the world will see what talent he is.
“I train with him on a daily basis so I am aware of what I am saying.”
Sumaila will join the rest of the 25-man squad on the 20 May for the start of the three-day non-residential camping.
