The Ghana Football Association (GFA) training ‘train’ has pitched camp in the Western Region for a Licence ‘C’ coaching course for trainers in the area and surrounding towns.

Technical Director of GFA Francis Oti Akenteng told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS in a telephone interview that the initiative falls in line with the FA’s plan to equip coaches in the country with modern day techniques.

About 40 coaches are taking part in the two-week training program intended to prepare them for the Licence ‘B’ course, with resource persons like coaches Edusei and Didi Dramani among others.

‘It’s been good so far, the idea was to ensure that all our coaches upgrade themselves. They have also bought into the idea and are getting on well with the courses,’ said coach Akenteng.

Everything was centralized in Accra, but some of the coaches complained of the cost of traveling all the way from the regions. The FA then decided to send it closer to them in the various regions, that is the reason we are in the Western for the course,’ he stated.
