TMZ paid $250,000 for ‘Solange attack on Jay Z’ video

It has emerged that US-based entertainment news website, TMZ.com paid a staggering $250,000 for a surveillance video of Beyonce’s sister, Solange ferociously assaulting Jay Z.

It is still unclear what might have caused the attack on the rapper and business mogul in an elevator after a Met Gala after-party last week at the Standard Hotel in New York.

Latest reports suggest that there is a hunt for the personality who leaked the surveillance tape to TMZ for $250,000.

Pagesix.com reported that a source has confirmed the sale price and said “this was being shopped for five days to the highest bidder.”

According to the website, Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer is investigating who sold the tape to TMZ.

“There are only a handful of people who’d have access to that tape,” Pagesix.com said. “The Standard owns that tape.” But, “Once it was out, Jay Z’s people felt they couldn’t control it. They were reluctant to try and publicly fight this.”

There are reports that Solange Knowles was “crazy drunk and out of it” when she launched the attack on Jay Z.

It is also reported that she has been struggling with family and career issues after being dropped by Jay Z’s label, Roc Nation.
