Sarkodie nominated for 2014 BET Awards

Ghana’s fastest rapper Sarkodie has once again been nominated for the 2014 edition of the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.

The rapper has been nominated in the Best International Act (Africa) category and will face stiff competition from Nigerian’s Davido and Tiwa Savage, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, South African group Mafikizolo and Toofan from Togo.

Sarkordie jointly won that award with Nigerian artiste Wizkid at the 2012 edition of the awards which came off at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

That year, the two artistes beat off competition from Ice Prince (Nigeria), Camp Mulla (Kenya), Mokobe (Mali) and Lira (South Africa). Ice Prince later won the Best International Act (Africa) in the 2013 edition of the awards.

Shortly after the nominees for the awards were revealed, Sarkodie tweeted that: “And we made it again 2014 BET Awards!!!!! #Thanks2God almighty. I love u @TeamSarkodie”.

The 2014 BET Awards will air live from the Nokia Theater at Los Angeles, USA on Sunday, June 29.
