Embattled businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, will today Monday May 12, 2014 appear in the financial division of the Accra Fast Track High Court to continue with his evidence in chief.
Led by his Counsel, Sarfo Boabeng, the accused at the last court sitting opened his defense to prove that the Ghc51 million paid to him as judgment debt was legitimate.
This was after the presiding judge, His Lordship John Ajet-Nassam earlier dismissed Mr. Woyome’s application of no case against the state prosecutors.
The state prosecutor, Matthew Amponsah, is doing everything possible to retrieve the Ghc51 million paid to Mr. Woyome as judgment debt.
At the last court sitting, Minister for Justice and Attorney Generals Department, Marietta Brew Appiah- Oppong was there to support the state prosecutor.
Alfred Agbesi Woyome is standing trial for allegedly defrauding the state under false pretence.
