Feyenoord, Inter Allies chase dream final

There will be no room for error in Accra on Sunday as Feyenoord and Inter Allies chase a dream MTN FA Cup final.

All the talk had centred on Feyenoord’s impressive run of results which has secured them a return to the Premier League and their journey to this stage of the competition.

The great revival by Inter Allies, who were bottom of the elite division for over 15 match days before pushing up the log and are now closing in safety has not been lost on the followers of the game.

Both sides have reached the semi-final of the Cup competition for the first time in their history as they meet at the Accra Stadium at 15:15GMT and have certainly prepared adequately as the game could be decided in penalties in the event that it ends in a draw after extra time.

Having lived in the shadows of other established sides for a long time, the opportunity to make history appears in sight but one side will have to put the other to the sword to realise that dream.

A convincing 2-1 victory by Feyenoord over Cup holders, Medeama was one of the biggest upsets in this season’s competition but they will find in Inter Allies, another strong force capable of ending their fairytale.

Inter Allies, who edged Hasaacas to the last-four ticket will be eager not to allow the dream of a Cup final to be blown away by the second-tier campaigners who have gained promotion and could swap places depending on how the season pans out for the Tema side.
