The Executive Members of the Mahodwe Electoral Area of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Agona West Constituency, have said unity is crucial for the party’s victory in the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to the Executives, disintegration among the rank and file, will be very difficult to achieve the ultimate goal of recapturing power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This is contained in a statement issued and signed by Nana Ampim Darko, Electoral Area Co-ordinator and copied to the press at Agona Swedru.
The executives congratulated the party for its successful National Congress held in Tamale about a forthnight ago, and wished all winners well, as well as those candidates who contested various positions.
They disclosed that the party would elect a flag-bearer before the end of the year, and humbly advised that all go through this process in a manner that will not hurt or harm the party’s fortunes .
The executives added their voices to the appeal to the newly-elected National Chairman Mr. Paul Afoko , that all interested groups must keep calm and hold their peace.
This, they said, will enable the entire party to rally behind whoever will eventually get the nod as the party’s flag-bearer for the 2016 general elections.
