Otumfuo Host New Tigo Boss


The newly appointed General Manager of Millicom Ghana Limited, Roshi Motman, has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The trip, the first official one to the King by the new General Manager since her appointment in the past two months ago offered the lady an opportunity to introduce herself and her team to the Asante Kingdom.

Tigo also greeted the King on the 15 th anniversary of his ascension to the throne and his birthday.

The visit cemented the already existing bond between the company and the King and the region as a whole.

In her interaction with the King, Roshi Motman saluted the King for the strides he had made since ascending the throne especially in the field of education and assured him of her company’s support in that direction especially in providing assistance to needy but brilliant students.

She later told the media that her company was committed to enhancing the culture of the country as evidenced in the Tigofest activities across Ghana.

She added that as part of the activities marking the King’s anniversary, ‘Tigo has donated a cheque of GH ¢50,000 to the Asantehene Educational Fund and a further GH ¢20,000 towards this year’s annual Otumfuo Teachers Awards.’

The King expressed gratitude to the management of Tigo for their unwavering support towards enhancing the country’s cultural heritage. He offered words of encouragement to the newly appointed Tigo GM, who represented a new face in corporate leadership in Ghana.
