Gold Stars appoint former Hasaacas coach Amissah on permanent basis


Second-tier side Gold Stars have handed coach Kobina Amissah a two-year contract after an impressive Division One League playoffs campaign .

Relegation-threatened Amidaus Professionals and Elmina Sharks were all interested in contracting the former Hasaacas coach.

The Bibiani-based side failed to secure promotion to next season’s Ghana Premier League but were impressive with two wins and one defeat.

Amissah returned home last month from Liberia where he handled Red Lions but could not rescue the club from relegation.

The 41-year-old has rich experience in the second-tier league after promoted Berekum Chelsea and Hasaacas in 2007 and 2013.

Amissah was a former youth team coach of Berekum Chelsea and led them to win the 2011 Yokohama Cup in Germany.
