11 Women complete skills training


Eleven women have undergone a six-month skills training at Gianco Ventures and Décor in Accra.  They were trained in floral arrangement, event organisation, decoration, home and management, among other course areas.

To show their readiness for the job market, the women mounted an exhibition in floral arrangement and decoration at Gianco’s fifth graduation ceremony. CEO’s advice

In an interview, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gianco Ventures and Décor, Mrs Eugenia Anderson, advised women to take advantage of the various avenues for job opportunities to engage in viable economic ventures. 

“We cannot sit down and wait upon the government to do everything for us. We can start something meaningful and it won’t be long for things to change for the better,” she added. Gianco Ventures and Décor

She said a number of women had benefitted from training at the institute and were now doing well in their various fields of endeavour nationwide.

Mrs Anderson noted that the school was opened to everyone, including men, as well as workers. Chairperson for occasion 

Prophetess Jane Agyekum of the Church of Pentecost, American Farm Assembly, advised the women to stay focused and put whatever they had been taught into practical use.

She called on the graduands to be diligent in their work and be prepared to serve their clients.

In a speech read on behalf of the graduands, Ms Gloria Quarcoo said they had benefitted a lot from the training and were prepared to put the skills acquired to good use.

Enumerating the benefits they had gained, she said their self-esteem and confidence levels had been boosted to go into the world of work to make progress, stressing, “The institute has equipped us with so many skills and abilities in the field of decoration, floral arrangement and event organising.”

She expressed their heartfelt appreciation to all those who had played pivotal roles in their training.

The graduands were all awarded certificates, with Ms Mercy Quayson being adjudged the overall best student.
