Presenting the equipment, a representative of the WHO, Dr Magda Robalo, said the presentation of the vehicle was in response to a request made by the district health directorate for a means of transport to facilitate healthcare in the area.

She expressed the hope that the support would improve upon child health and maternal-related complications in the district.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr  Alfred Tia Sugri, who received the equipment, thanked the WHO for the support.

He said it would greatly enhance healthcare in the district.

He was particularly grateful for the protective kits, which he said were crucially needed to protect health professionals against infectious diseases.
