A man, who is suspected to be a rapist, has been arrested in Ede, Osun State, western Nigeria, for allegedly attempting to rape a grade six pupil.
According to investigations done by PUNCH online, the accused, who was allegedly refused sex by the primary school pupil (name withheld) of Young Tajudeen Middle School, Ede, Osun State, attacked his victim and inflicted injuries on her in a bush within the locality.

It was gathered that the assailant inflicted machete cuts on the 15-year-old girl’s head, legs and wrist.
The pupil was said to be living with her grandmother in Ede, while her mother lives in Lagos State.
Reports stated that the incident happened last Wednesday when the teenager went inside the bush in the town to pick some mangoes.
The unnamed victim said that she was going home with the mangoes when the assailant appeared from no where, first asked for some mangoes before demanding for sex, which she said she turned down.
According to the pupil, the man grabbed her head and forced a pill into her mouth and after this, she became unconscious.
Commenting on whether the man raped her, she said she cannot tell because she became unconscious after swallowing the pill.
“The man threatened to cut off my head if I didn’t oblige him. He held my head, forced my mouth open and dropped a white pill inside my mouth. I fell down and I became unconscious. I was attacked around 2pm and I woke up when it was getting dark maybe around 7pm.
“I managed to crawl to the footpath and shouted for help, but none came until the following morning.”
It was gathered that the poor girl was found inside the bush the following day by some farmers who were on there way to their farms.
It was stated that she was rushed to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Osogbo for treatment.
The mother of the victim, Abebi , told newsmen that the girl’s father had died and her grandmother said she should not take her back to Lagos.
Mrs. Folasade Odoro, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said that the command had not been briefed of the case.
