As the days draw near for the first ever Black Stars Farewell Match several local based players are expressing interest in the event an action they have revealed that it will be a dream come true to play against their icons on the same pitch.
Two of such players include Kotoko’s stalwart defender Abeiku Ainooson and Hearts of Oak rugged defender Nuru Sule, both of whom can’t wait to play against the World Cup squad of the Black Stars.
Speaking on Asempa fm both player were in high spirits with the fact that they seem to be getting lots of votes from their fans in the ongoing texting program to select the 20 players for the Dream Team.
“I am very happy, I must admit when I heard that my fans have been voting for me every day. It shows that indeed I am doing something worthy of recognition”, Abeiku Ainooson mentioned.
“Playing against the World Cup squad is a very big thing that we all will love to see and have a feel of and that is what thrills me, that at least I won’t be a spectator. But it’s not yet finished so I will charge my fans to continue voting for me so that I can once again showcase my talent in front of the whole nation, and who knows, Kwesi Appiah might get a last minute change of mind”, the defender joked.
On his part, Nuru Sule embraced the concept and applauded the organizers for coming up with such a wonderful event; an action he believes will give the Black Stars the needed morale booster ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.
“It’s a good thing and to be part of something that is happening for the first time is a good feeling. I just hope and pray that other players’ votes don’t over ride mine, so that I can get the chance to be part of it. I have been voting myself and I believe that come 23rd May Nuru Sule will be a part of the dream team”, the Hearts of Oak defensive pillar mentioned
