Bawku(U/E), May 7, GNA – The Bawku Central constituency youth wing of the New Patriotic Party   (NPP) has undertaken a clean-up exercise in Bawku.

The exercise attracted a large number of residents including party activists and sympathizers from the Municipality and its environs.

The participants cleaned the Presbyterian Hospital environment, the Bawku Judicial Service premises, the Bawku Police Station, the Bawku Central Market area, and Municipal Assembly Administration Block, de-silted gutters and cleared weeds at the sides of the principal streets of the town.

Mr Nurudeen Gumah, the Bawku Central Youth Communications Director, said the exercise was aimed at promoting environmental cleanness which was essential for human health.

He said as the rains set in there was the need to de-silt gutters and other waterways to improve on the drainage systems and avoid floods in the area.

Mr Gumah said the youth was the driving force for national development and that there would be need for them to look for a development oriented government that would help them grow as productive human resource for the development of the country.

He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government had disappointed the entire youth in the country and had deprived them of their role as the driving force for the economy.

Mr Jacob Zens Haruna, Bawku Central Constituency Youth Organizer of the Party, called on the people to take their health needs seriously by keeping their environment clean.
