Asante Kotoko have made an offer to Berekum Chelsea to sign midfielder Jackson Owusu.

The defending Premier League champions are looking to bolster their ranks ahead of another anticipated domestic title defence.

The club is also looking to repair their stuttering form in the CAF Champions League and have identified the 21-year-old as a solid addition to their midfield.

Kotoko have thus written to Berekum Chelsea to begin negotiations for their priced midfielder who is also being chased by foreign clubs.

“Asante Kotoko have written to the team for the player and I have referred the letter to Nana Kwame [Chief Executive],” Berekum Chelsea’s General Manager Oduro Sarfo revealed to Metro FM.

“I am a mere employee of the club and therefore when the club makes a request, I will make my contribution.

“So for now, it is in the hands of the club.”
Owusu was a member of Ghana’s squad that won silver at CHAN tournament hosted earlier this year in South Africa.
