Fans of relegated French Ligue 1 side Valenciennes have developed an avalanche of love for Abdul Majeed Waris with some urgent management to sign him permanently.

They believe the Ghana international can help them make a quick return to the French top-flight and taken to social media to state their cases.

Waris was signed on loan from Spartak Moscow during the January window and has been hugely successful.

The 22-year-old has bagged nine goals in 15 appearances.

He is now set to return to his parent club in Russia but fans of Valenciennes want him to stay to boost their chances of a swift return.

A fan with the Twitter handle @thepinkponce wrote: “Been a pleasure watching you. You’ve been fantastic and I really hope we see you back here next season, All the best.”

And @azzadavo9 added: “See you next season hopefully. Majeed.”

Waris is set to make his FIFA World Cup debut this June in Brazil.
