2014 World Cup: Ghana defender Harrison Afful savours fourth Tunisian league medal

Ghana defender Harrison Afful is savouring his fourth Tunisian league triumph with Esperance.

The 27-year-old hoisted the Tunisian top flight title for the fourth time in his career after Esperance’s 1-0 win over Monastir on Sunday.

The win sees the Blood and Gold clinch their 25th league title in their illustrious history.

And Afful who has been with the side  since 2009 and was picking up his third successive winners medal – his fourth overall remains delighted with his achievement as if it was his first.

“Winning the league for the fourth time is something very huge for me,” he told Happy FM.

“This is my fourth and the 25th time the club has won the league here. Coincidentally I also wear the number 25 shirt so the victory is kind of sentimental to me.

“I am extremely happy with this achievement and hope I win many more titles in my career.”

Afful who is being linked to a move to French giants Olympique Marseille is expected to make the Ghana’s squad for June’s World Cup in Brazil.
