Two Fulanis arrested one year after robbery

Two Fulanis accused of allegedly robbing passengers of commercial buses on the Wurawura-Accra road about a year ago have been arrested by the police.

The two suspects, Aminu Duwa, 23, and Abubakari Adama, 20, were identified by one of their victims while they were on another robbery operation at Dodowa.

  Robbery in the morning
The Dodowa Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Kwesi Ofori, told the Daily Graphic that the alleged robbers carried out their operations in the early hours of the morning.

He said a victim told the police she was on board a Benz bus when the two stopped them and ordered the passengers to give them their mobile phones and money.

He said the suspected robbers also managed to take possession of some lap tops and other personal items of their victims.

The police have, however, been able to retrieve some of the stolen items.

  Suspect on police wanted list
According to Mr Ofori, the two have been on the police wanted list since the robbery on the road was reported by some victims.

He said the alleged robbers would be put before court soon, and urged persons who had fallen victim to assist the police with information that would facilitate investigations.
