Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani says he has many of his first team players in the treatment room.
Dramani disclosed this after fielding a weakened side in a 1-1 draw with Berekum Chelsea in a friendly on Sunday.
Defender Kwabena Adusei has been absent since returning from the 2014 CHAN tournament.
Midfielder Michael Akuffo is unfit , right-back Amos Frimpong has a leg injury just to mention a few.
“Most of the key players could not play because they are not doing well, that is why we even drew with Berekum Chelsea,” Dramani told Kumasi-based Angel FM
“And they are sick as a result of the demanding nature of the league.”
Kotoko, if declared winners of the MTN quarter-final clash following AshantiGold refusal to turn up for the match, will play rivals King Faisal on Sunday in the semi-final.
The Porcupine Warriors are still leading on the league log by 51 points; ten points more than Heart of Lions who have one game in hand.
