Oly Return To Premiership

Accra Great Olympics yesterday made a dramatic return to Ghana’s top flight league after inflicting a 2-1 defeat on fellow regional counterparts Tema Youth at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The play-off involving the former Premiership sides lived to its pre-match hype, but it nearlly went to the gutters when the Tema-based side walked off the pitch in protest of an alleged cheating by centre man Referee J.O. Lamptey.

It took the intervention of King Faisal bank roller Alhaji Karim Gruzah to get the aggrieved party to resume play.

Tema Youth grabbed the opener in the first half through Issah Huzeiea, but Oly cancelled the lead a few minutes before the break through Abraham Annan.

Joseph Armah fetched the match winner for the Wonder Club after the break which resulted in the Tema folks’ match-off.

Oly lost their Premiership statusĀ  about four seasons ago.
