Woyome suffers setback; ordered to open defence

Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has been ordered to open his defence on May 5, 2014 in the case in which he is tried for fraud.

The self-acclaimed National Democratic Congress financier had filed a submission of no case after the prosecution closed its case.

He argued the state had not made out its case against him and that there was no case for him to defend.

But the Financial Division of the Commercial Court in Accra ordered him to open his defence in respect of a 51 million Ghana cedis judgment debt award which the state said he obtained fraudulently.

More soon.
