Winning start for Great Olympics in play-offs

Great Olympics’ hopes of returning to the Premier League began with a win on Saturday in the play-offs for Division One League sides.

The Wonder Boys got off to a 2-1 win over Istanbul at the Baba Yara Stadium as they go joint-top in Zone III with former premiership campaigners, Tema Youth, who defeated Okwawu United 2-1 at the Len Clay.

Doetsey Agbeshie and Abraham Anang scored for Olympics before Eric Agyei managed to score a consolation for Istanbul.

Tema Youth needed goals from Nicholas Odjer and Bright Adjei to down Okwawu who pulled one back through Prince Siaw.

Olympics will head into their next fixture on Tuesday against Okwawu.

In the other group, Zone II, Dunkwa United and Feyenoord enjoyed winning starts on Friday to keep their ambitions going.

Samuel Tetteh’s goal made the difference as Feyenoord recorded a 1-0 victory against Eleven Wise at the Tema Stadium on Saturday.
