MMT To Get 230 New Buses

Stephen Abukari, Deputy Operations Manager of Metro Mass Transit (MMT) in the Northern region has announced that the company will take delivery of 230 new buses in June.

This, he said, would significantly boost its intra-city services and enhance the public transport system.

Mr Abukari made this known when he led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.

The officials of MMT were there to congratulate the Asante King on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of his enthronement.

The Deputy Operations Manager said under the company’s strategic five-year corporate development plan, emphasis would be placed on quality customer services.

He said there would be prompt redress of public complaints and regular training of the staff to build their capacity for efficient service delivery.

Mr Abukari said they had over the years been working hard to re-brand the company and would not tolerate acts of indiscipline by any of its workers.

Those who breach the code of ethics of the company would be sanctioned, he said.
