Ejisu-juaben Police to prosecute 10 parents for child pornography

The Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly has begun discussions on how to tackle increasing patronage of pornography by children in the area.

Last week, police arrested about 20 children between eight and 12-years for engaging in such illegal acts at video centres at night.

They were granted bail after police had taken statements from them, together with their parents over what Ejisu Command officials say is a breach of the Children’s’ Act.

Ten parents of the suspected minors are being processed for court.

Nhyira Fm’s Ohemeng Tawiah reported, the Municipal Chief Executive Afrifa Yamoah Ponko said the Municipal assembly was “very disturbed” by the trend of pornography.

He wants the Assemly to work with the police to embark on swoops at video centres.

The Police have said, they have detained 10 parents and expect to prosecute them soon.
