Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani say defender Abeiku Ainooson deserved the red card in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Hasaacas.
The defending league champions had to play the last quarter of the First Capital Plus Premier League with one man down at the Essipong Stadium.
The often-reliable defender looked rusty in his first game after being out for almost a month with injury.
Ainooson’s untimely challenge gave away a penalty which Tennesson Opoku dispatched to restore parity and set up a nervy end to the match.
“Abeiku Ainooson has been out for over a month and I feel he rushed some of his challenges today,” Dramani said.
“To me he is still learning and the fact that you get carried away after some impressive outing also played a part in his sending off.
“As to if going to affect our title defense I doubt we have hardly had our preferred back line but we have coped and I expect us to in this time.
“I have no problem with the referee I felt he did a good job today.”
