THE TEMA Regional Police Command has assured residents in the metropolis and its environs that the police would be tough on criminals to ensure incident-free Easter celebration.

According to the police, to ensure law and order, the Command, in collaboration with the three districts in Tema, had put in place operational orders to enforce the laws to ensure that lives and properties are protected.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mrs. Beatrice Zakpa Vib-Sanziri, Tema Regional Police Commander, addressing a section of the media at her office, intimated that the police had outlined security measures to be enrolled during the Easter period.

She said beside the operational orders, the districts had been tasked to institute their own security measures to curb any criminal activities in the metropolis.

The Regional Commander said both uniformed and plain clothed police personnel would be deployed to various social gatherings and others would patrol the streets to ensure the maintenance of law and order.

DCOP Vib-Sanziri disclosed that no personnel would be   allowed to go on leave during the period.

According to her, the Tema Region would be zoned into smaller sectors to enable police personnel to act swiftly when people are in distress.

She outlined a number of measures the Command had put in place to safeguard lives and properties and called on the public to cooperate with the police by volunteering information on the activities of criminals to.
