Photo of the week : Scavenging school children: Whose responsibility?

Scavenging among school children in both urban and rural communities has become rampant with school authorities doing little or nothing at all to curb the practice.

School children roaming at refuse dumpsites and feeding themselves with rotten foods pose no small danger to their health.

Those of Chogu  Demonstration Junior High School in Tamale were scavenging through dust bins placed on the compound of the Tamale Ghana National Association of Teachers Hostel.

Ministry of Education, Municipal Environmental  Health Directors and non governmental organizations in the health sector are to educate our children to prevent possible epidemic.
